Stanton Renewal Project by the Numbers

$300 million: Value of the construction contract with Boreal Health Partnership 

$350 million: Total capital cost of the construction project including costs incurred by the Government of the Northwest Territories. The $50 million in extra costs will pay for: 

  •  clinical information system 
  • FF&E 
  • project management 
  • engineering 
  • financial advisors 
  • lawyers 
  • honoraria to the unsuccessful proponents 

$751 million: Value of contract with Boreal Health Partnership (BHP). $70 million: Amount identified by BHP as available for local contractors to benefit from the project, both in construction phase and maintenance post-construction. 

$1.1 billion: Cost of a traditional design and build for a new Stanton Territorial Hospital, including 30 years of operation and maintenance. 

25 percent: Approximate savings to GNWT through P3 process over traditional design and build option, approximately $290 million. 

2015: Construction will begin in Fall 2015. 

2018: Construction is expected to be completed in late-2018. 

2021: Expected year the new Stanton Territorial Hospital will be fully operational. 

100: Number of beds in the new Stanton Territorial Hospital 

280,000: Total size (square-foot) of new building, approximately double the size of the current facility.
